Riyou offers Rudo some rare underground sweets, and he’s overwhelmed by how delicious they are. The chapter takes a humorous turn when Rudo eats too many and becomes comically bloated. This leads back to the opening scene, where Zanka sees Rudo’s swollen form in the hallway and yells in shock. The chapter blends emotional depth with comedy, showing Rudo’s innocence and gradual adjustment to life among the Janitors, while still hinting at the dangers that lie ahead.
